Do you need to see the job before you can quote?
For most repairs, yes. A photo helps, but we usually want to look at the metal, check the thickness and see what has failed before putting a figure on it.
What should I bring when I drop something off?
Bring the whole part if you can, not just the broken piece. Any bolts, brackets or fittings that belong with it help us line the repair up properly.
Can you weld stainless steel and aluminium?
Yes, we weld both, along with mild steel. Stainless and aluminium need cleaner prep and a slower hand, so we will talk through the job first if it is thin or awkward.
Do you come out to a site or a home address?
For fixed things like gates, railings and plant that cannot be moved, we can bring the welding kit to you around Bristol. It depends on the job and access, so ask first.
How do you want the job paid for?
We agree the price before we start, then you can pay by bank transfer or card once the work is finished and you have seen it. Small jobs are settled on collection.
What happens if a repair is not worth doing?
We say so. Sometimes the metal is too thin or too far gone, and a new piece is the better spend. We would rather tell you that than take the money.
